I’m Heather and I am a self-confessed TV addict.
In the past couple years, I have discovered a previously-hidden love of the medium of television. There were shows I had enjoyed prior to this realization and shows that I made a point to watch live in the days before DVRs and Hulu, but I only enjoyed them as individual shows. I was unaware of any of the trends that led to that particular show being on the air or any of the ratings information that helped keep them on the air. My TV addiction really started when I got a Netflix subscription for the first time. It was finally convenient (and cost-effective) for me to catch up on all the great TV shows of the past that I missed out on the first time around. The more shows I was able to watch on Netflix, the more I became interested in both the television industry and media studies. These interests continued to grow and sparked the early ideas for this blog.
My favorite shows of all-time are Gilmore Girls, Battlestar Galactica (the 2004 reboot), Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Parks and Recreation. I am working through a long list of television shows I’d like to see at some point in time and am always looking for suggestions of other shows for the list or recommendations on shows to move further up my list. New show season is incredibly exciting for me and I love seeing what shows have made it to air and how they are received once they make it that far.
In addition to my passion for TV, I recently graduated with my master’s degree in social psychology. I also love to cook and make it a point try out new recipes regularly.
